Been awhile since I posted to this site. I really think I have to re-do this blog to make it more visually friendly and also feature more video work. Coming soon for sure is the short film, “Friends in her Pockets”. Until then, here is the 30 sec spot for WSU football.Click here to take a look.

http://www.guerillagraphics.net/jrmiss/ For some real quality entertainment, check out this uncomfortable pageant entertainment from the 1994 Minnesota State Jr. Miss competition. For those of you who are entertained by such films as Living Dolls or Drop Dead Gorgeous, this here is the real thing. Some highlights are “One Last Miracle”, “When I Fall in Love” and also featuring instrumental performances highlighting Miami Sound Machine, Phantom of the Opera and a physical fitness routine to the smash hit Footloose.

So I thought I would start to upload some AE files for downloads. Mostly these are tests for other projects I have worked on or will be working on, but all in all, they are good starts for projects. Keep an outlook for more projects being posted under the After Effects Downloads category. I’m not promising a daily post, but I hope to get enough up here to inspire some visits.
You can visit: http://www.rerendered.com if you would like to purchase any of these files.
I have been playing with Trapcode Particular as of late and am starting to see why it’s a great tool to get the ball rolling on simple projects that may require just some text or image fly-ins. This AE project is a series of particles generating from the left and pinching into a corner on the right hand of the screen. Sometimes a particle will escape the top edge of the background and fly off of it.

You will need the Trapcode Particular plugin to use this file.

Finally got some time to get a photo posted of the Bodog Energy Drink can design. Between moving back into the house and having a new little one in the house, it’s a big accomplishment to get a photograph of a design up on the site. Only took 3 months.
Another good benefit of having a little one in the house is watching T.V. while giving them a bottle. I got hooked on Showtime’s Dexter. Smart writing, great characters and I have not been disappointed yet. I’m only 4 eps. in, so you never know. 4 eps. of 24 season 6 didn’t disappoint either, but looked what happened to that. Eating a bowl of maggots seems more satisfying now.

(UPDATE ON DEXTER)
Finished season 1 and 2. I had to get Showtime and watch them back to back via on-demand. I had no idea how season 2 would end and right up until the last scene you still wonder what is in store for Dexter. Thank you Showtime for picking up Season 3!
One quick point about this show that caught me off guard. Usually voice-overs in films/t.v. become too much for me to handle and I am distracted by the fact that the voice-over is telling me too much story and feel it’s a tool that’s over used sometimes. Listening to the inner voice of Dexter takes you deeper into his character and the voice-over in this case is enjoyable. You find yourself laughing because you are more connected to his personality and sense of humor than the characters he interacts with on screen.
Another great thing about Dexter’s character is that whenever he is the most honest and blunt with his darker feelings and opinions with his friends and family, they pick up on it as positive advice! Usually the opposite was meant in his replies and he comes out in the end looking like some kind of emotional guru! Great writing, great actors, PLEASE don’t lose that in season 3!

I submitted 2 of my brush sets to Brusheezy.com and they picked them up! Go there now and download them while they are still in the top of the order! Just wait until I get my studio set up again. The brushes and free stuff will start to flow ever so freely. I’ve got a few things on tap with brushes that I just have to scan, so I hope this is not a one time thing with the peeps at Brusheezy! Many shout outs!

In the meantime. I rented Spiderman 3 last weekend and was entertained right up until the moment Spidey ripped off the Venom from his body and turned back into a whining know it all. Peter Parker was a lot cooler when he was an awkward bad ass. Not only was he finally hitting on the hot russian neighbor Ursula and the news room secretary Betty Brant, he was about to get with his hot blonde classmate as well! Come on Parker, Lux looked good about 20 movies ago in Virgin Suicides, drop her. What really turned on the zzz’s for me was the team work of the new Green Goblin and Spidey. All that work just to save a butt ugly girl from some kick ass villians! Total waste of rendering time. Worth a watch, not a buy for sure. I rented Transformers for tonight, so who knows, SM3 might look like The Godfather after this one is viewed. Something tells me that combining Michael Bay and something sacred to toy nerds around the world is not going to be good.
