Removing Flash CS3 Demo
Today I needed to work on a flash file for a job and realized that in the past I had installed a demo of Flash CS3 on my Macintosh. I grabbed my install disks and began to install the licensed version. While I was installing I saw that the installer said, Flash CS3 already installed. I figured when I entered my serials, I would be able to register the Flash CS3 demo with my license. Imagine my anger when I came to the point to launch Flash it still said demo period was over and I could not open CS3 to work on my files.
I was not privy to the uninstaller for Flash CS3 and drug everything to the trash and tried to install again with my disks. I launched the installer and now I could not install Flash as it said already installed. I did some research online and found that you need to uninstall from the uninstaller or the demo.dmg that was downloaded. Since I have trashed both I had no other solution but Adobe’s help site. Since Adobe has killed all the demos for download of CS3 as they have released CS4, you cannot download an installer of Flash CS3 demo to uninstall a stupid demo. Now I’m confused and even more pissed off…. For all of you out there, there is hope. Go to this page on Adobe’s site and download maccs3clean:

Once again, you need Mac Cs3 clean, maccs3clean, CS3 clean. Hopefully Google will crawl through that so those of you out there can uninstall CS3 demo software, get rid of CS3, kill CS3 Flash Demo, uninstall Flash CS3 demo. This script does a good job of killing all those hidden files you cannot find and makes it easy to use your install disks as they should. I had to post this as it took me 2 hours to find the maccs3clean script and it was New Years Day, their help lines were all closed and their website was not helpful at all. Once again Google and a forum somewhere found the answer for me.
