Vacation, Bee stings, and Blake’s Blog
So went on vacation to the cabin and didn’t touch a computer for a week. Only technology I touched was the camera and my brother-in-law’s iphone. Let’s look at some shots.
Here’s the lake right outside the cabin. Always an awe inspiring moment to wake up and see nothing but blue.
Q enjoying the space. I imagine he’s trying to fly through the blue.
Here’s the mouth of the Cross River in Schroeder. Every time I see the mouth of this river I think of the Fall days spent in hip waders with the fishing rod, beef jerkey and a hook filled with salmon roe. I’ll be back some day to waste the hours away.
A “Weed” on the North Shore. Daisy growing done in the wild is a lot easier than trying it in the city.
The best shot of the week was taken by my wife as she was walking by the kids.
So after vacation I spent the week catching up on work and got outside today to do some repairs on the back addition. I pulled away some rotted caulk from the seam of the addition to the stucco and noticed some bees flyin’ in and out of the crack I was caulking. They didn’t bother me until I hammered on a new trim board. I was getting down from the ladder to finish the last two nails and one got me in the arm. I was kind of put off guard at first realizing I got stung. I had the F bomb fit, grabbed M and the cat and ran in the house as Q was coming out of the house with a hammer to help. It’s now almost 6 hours later and my arm still hurts. I’m going to get some spray tomorrow and take revenge on the beasts and finish the last 2 nails.
Go to Katie’s blog and check out her collages. She has been updating with some good stuff and I hope she can add some more work soon! Some day I hope we can come and see ya Katie! I personally miss the amazing Seattle food joints, hiking adventures and coffee joints. Maybe we can even break away with Snowboards and tag along to Alaska on one of your glacier adventures.
